Psalm 23 teaches that the table is set at the presence of the enemies, but what if your enemies are the ones at the table? That's how Mephibosheth felt--as Saul's son, he surely was the enemy to the new king, David. But, David has compassion on him, inviting him to have a sustaining life that he couldn't have had otherwise, lame as he was.
