Couples who experience the pain and trauma of a miscarriage may at times wonder if God might be punishing them for some previous sin. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The Larimores and Gordons also urge the church “to mourn with those who mourn,” as Romans 12:15 proclaims.
