As Americans, we are blessed to enjoy the fruits of our freedom, born out of the hardship of generations past. But we need to be aware of something very important: liberty is fragile. Metaxas points to author and social critic Os Guinness’ notion of the “golden triangle of freedom,” which states that freedom requires virtue, virtue requires faith, and faith requires freedom. Sadly, we have forgotten America’s precious history, and are thus in danger of losing our republic.
