Our whole relationship with God can be defined by mercy. Hebrews 9:22 says that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Christ's blood was shed on our behalf, and God's mercy has allowed us to be redeemed. When Christ comes back to judge the earth, our slates will be clean because of God's mercy.
