Witnessing versus being a witness. While it may sound like a minimal distinction between the two at best. Jesus said that those who receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them will be witness to Him. And while we place a needed emphasis on evangelism, Pastor Jeff Johnson points out that the need to simply be a witness to Jesus, meaning our entire lives will be revealing the reality Jesus Christ wherever we go. This will have an impact on those closest to us first, and then flow outward from there.
