“Having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” That means that by His paying the penalty on the cross for your sin and my sin, that it’s made peace between God and the sinner—so that God today is not approaching man on the basis of saying, “Look here, fellow, I’m against you. You’ve been rebelling against Me and I’m going to have to punish you.” No. God is saying to the lost sinner today and to you and me—“I’ve already paid the penalty, and if you come to Me, then there’s peace.”
