Now the Holy Spirit will never lead contrary to the Word, but He’ll always lead in accordance to the Word of God. And a great many people try to use the Word of God like it’s a sort of a Ouija board. They get into a particular circumstance, and they go to the Bible, and they begin to thumb through it. And they find a nice comforting verse, and they say, “Well, this is what God gave me.” God is not giving out verses like shuffling cards. He gives the Word. The whole Word. The Word of God. And you don’t go to the Word of God and pick out one little verse. The Bible’s not a spare tire. It’s not a first aid kit. It’s a chart and compass. In fact, here is God’s radar screen.
