A true friend will let us know when we have lettuce in our teeth, or the price tag on our new jacket. It’s comforting to know these friends have our back, so to speak. When it comes to our relationship with God we can count on other followers of Jesus to help us out along the way. You can know something about a person, their biography, greatest achievements, famous sayings...but still be a stranger to them. Real relationships require something more. Presence. Pursuit. A genuine willingness to close the distance.
