Many so-called Gospel presentations and even tracts do not include "biblical repentance.” People are led to believe that as long as they walked an aisle, prayed a prayer, they’re right with God. You look at their lives though, and they’re no different than the world. This viewpoint is diametrically opposed to message of Jesus, the apostles, and prophets of the Old Testament. They gave repentance an important place in their preaching of the gospel - as should we. Repentance is the necessary response to the Gospel.
