Just about any runner will tell you, in a race you must avoid looking behind you as that will slow you down and cause you to lose focus. Instead you need to stay focused on the finish line. That’s also a good way to run the Christian life as we’re about to see today on Focal Point. As we wrap up another year, I’d imagine a good number of you are tired, maybe even greatly discouraged as you look at your past! Some are finding it difficult to want to even get up out of bed in the morning to face the future. As we’ll see today there’s good reason to not worry about yesterday.
