There’s a military adage that’s applied to everything from sports and law to business and board games. It goes, “the best defense is a good offense.” Pastor Mike Fabarez uses this principle to describe the Christian life as well. If you want to do great things for God, it starts by having a good defense. But in order to really make a difference, you’ve got to live like you have nothing to fear, because you don’t! God is with you.
You can know something about a person, their biography, greatest achievements, famous sayings...but still be a stranger to them. Real relationships require something more. Presence. Pursuit. A genuine willingness to close the distance.
