“Jesus sayeth unto him, If thou wilt be perfect (or complete), go and sell what thou hast, give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.” Following Jesus, of course, would have led him to see that he was not keeping the first commandments which have to do with a man’s relationship to God. But there was something standing in the way. For this young man, it was riches. “But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.” What is it today that is separating maybe you from Christ? Is anything in the way that’s keeping you from Him?
